It is important to note that if your pet ingests the bulb of this flower, their chance of survival is near to none.
So if you’re set on planting Daffodils, place them in a pot so they are out of reach.
Irises
Irises are another one of spring’s most popular flowers because they come in so many bright and beautiful colours.
But these are also highly dangerous to pets and kids if they are consumed.
Causing fevers, stomach cramping, nausea, and vomiting, these flowers should be avoided in your landscapes if you have pets or children.
Peace Lily
Peace Lilies are a popular flower in offices and homes, because of their low maintenance, simple beauty, and air purification qualities.
But these flowers cause pain and even death, if they are consumed.
Some of the first symptoms of Peace Lily ingestion are burning lips, mouth, and tongue, throat swelling, and difficulty breathing.
These are beautiful flowers, but they just don’t live up to their peaceful name when it comes to encounters with pets and people.
Oleander
One of the most common fragrant bush plants, Oleanders have been popularized for their abundant flowers, quick growth, and easy maintenance.
They are found everywhere: from homes, to being used as natural fencing, and lining highways.
However, Oleander is one of the most toxic plants out there.
It’s been recorded, that consuming just a single Oleander leaf causes death in adults, children, and pets.
Hydrangea
Hydrangea is a common plant and is found in many yards.
But eating the flowers causes intense health issues, from stomach pains, diarrhea, and difficulty breathing. Death or a coma can also occur if large amounts are consumed.
Poisonous to people and pets, Hydrangea should be avoided when choosing plants for landscaping.
English Ivy
A very popular plant that grows in a long, growing vine, English Ivy is a plant that is enjoyed both indoors and outdoors.
Though very beautiful, they are deadly.
